UPDATEDAs discussed in class, since we did not get to the criminal law readings on Monday we will carry those readings over to Thursday, along with the Lon Fuller Speluncean Explorers reading.  So for Thursday May 19 please be prepared to discuss:Fletcher and Sheppard chapter 11 (on the jury system; read only up to the start of the Bloom case), Chapter 12 (which includes the famous Mapp v. Ohio case) and Chapter 4 (focus on the Rogers v. Tennessee case).The Lon Fuller article, linked to below. ---  During this week we will wrap up our discussion of equal protection and begin a segment on criminal law.As discussed in class, the readings for Monday are:1. Handout on criminal law, now available at the reception desk at the library.  This can be read after class instead of before.2. Fletcher and Sheppard chapter 11 (on the jury system; read only up to the start of the Bloom case), Chapter 12 (which includes the famous Mapp v. Ohio case) and Chapter 4 (focus on the Rogers v. Tennessee case, remembering that, as we discussed in class, this is there more for a discusion of the reasoning and the nature of common law than for black-letter criminal law).The readings for Thursday are coming, but those who wish to get started can begin with Lon Fuller's article, linked to below.  Note that if the link does not work for any reason, you can find the article by logging into the Lund University library and entering the author and title into the LUBSearch search engine.  There will be no additional readings from the Fletcher and Sheppard book for Thursday.
