United States ex rel. Knauff v. Shaughnessy

What process was Knauff afforded by which to challenge her exclusion? What is problematic about that result? How might the result be explained or even justified in the context of the Cold War? Try to come up with a scenario in which the procedure (or lack thereof) might makes sense.

In the wake of the decision, the Knauffs were able to garner significant public support for her admission, including in Congress. She was eventually granted a hearing in which some evidence was presented that she was a spy for the government of Czechoslovakia. She was able to rebut the evidence, however, including by demonstrating that she had no access to classified information, and was eventually granted permanent residence status. What does that result say about the Court's ruling?
