State v. Robinson
This case addresses the meaning of "extreme indifference to the value of human life." You'll likely need to read the legal part a few times to understand what's going on. Read the case at least once first. Once you've done so, make sure you can answer these questions.
1. What is the defendant's argument on appeal and how would winning that argument help him?
2. How does the court define "extreme indifference"--that is, what does it add to recklessness?
3. Is this definition contained in the instructions given to the jury in Robinson's case? If not, doesn't it need to be?
4. What is the second holding concerning the meaning of "extreme indifference" concerning human life in general or this specific victim?
