Recommendation of the National Commission on Forensic Science on Examiner Language
As you know, the National Commission on Forensic Science was formed as a result of the 2009 NRC Report, and was then disbanded by Jeff Sessions because we obviously don’t need any more forensic science reform. (Yes, that is sarcasm.)
The Commission was charged with adopting recommendations for the Department of Justice and reported to the Attorney General.
This is the Commission’s recommendation regarding expert witness’ use of the phrase “reasonable scientific certainty,” (one of the phrases at issue in the brief you just read).
