Excerpt from Addendum to the 2016 PCAST Report
After the PCAST report was published, there was a big outcry from the forensic science community. In response, the committee considered the objections and evidence of that community, and then issued this addendum.
Please read pages 1 - 4 (stopping after "There is no justification for accepting that a method is valid and reliable in the absence of appropriate empirical evidence.") I have also posted a pdf version of the excerpt on our Brightspace page under Class 6.
