Regulation of Financial Institutions – Fall 2014

In today’s class we will take up issues of regulatory structure. As an introduction to the subject, please read pages 1-79 of Government Accountability Office, Financial Regulatory Reform: Financial Crisis and Potential Impacts of the Dodd-Frank Act (Jan. 2013). In reviewing this document, pay particular attention to the organizational structure of financial regulation in the United States and how the Dodd-Frank Act altered that structure. Then take a quick look at State National Bank of Big Spring v. Lew 958 F.
