Assignment: For students that picked persuasive writing as your primary desired skill, your assignment is to find an example of an op-ed or another piece of persuasive short-form writing, and send it to the mailing list at least 48 hours before class along with an introductory note about why you found it so persuasive (or unpersuasive, if that’s the route you decided to go). Why did you find it so compelling? What techniques did the author use to make a convincing argument? The rest of us will read the pieces sent to the list, and we’ll discuss them in class.
