TFR Class Nine: Insurance Regulation Concluded: Federal Encroachments and the Affordable Care Act -- March 3, 2015
Today's class will conclude our discussion of insurance. We will first complete our consideration of ERISA and then turn to the Affordable Care Act, focusing on the extent to which the ACA ameliorates the risks associated with health care expenditures. The reading assignment is Professor Allison Hoffman's recent article on this topic. As you read over Professor Hoffman's article, consider the strengths and weaknesses of our current approach to the regulation of health care insurance in the United States.
