Introduction to contracts and these course materials
Welcome to Contract law!
For the first class, please read the case that follows, Leonard v. Pepsico, and the note about these course materials.
The dispute in Leonard arises from a Pepsi ad. You can watch the ad here.
And if you're really interested -- and in all of your spare time! -- there is a documentary about this case: Pepsi, Where's My Jet?
As you read this opinion, note the writing, organization, and legal analysis. Despite its somewhat ridiculous subject matter, this is an example of excellent legal writing. It is also a good overview of the issues we will be discussing in the first part of the course.
