Nonetheless, it offers a good introduction to questions of legal interpretation, the function of precedent in the judicial system, and the use of line-drawing in legal analysis. The case thus functions as a transitional case as we move from the foundations of law--and tort law specifically--to our first doctrinal tort concept of "intent"]
