Objectives and Discussion Questions
Policies and Training are necessary but so insufficient. The longer I do compliance work, the less I like these two elements of an effective compliance program. At some level, they still just have to be checked off. There is certainly an opportunity to optimize with automation, AI, and compliance by design. This effort still needs to be measured in some manner to show effectiveness. This class will be the most tactical class in terms of a compliance officer's management of the policy office and of mandatory training. We will discuss best practice in both and then options for measuring the effectiveness of these efforts. Faragher is a reminder of how policies and education can show up as part of a corporation's defense.
Discussion Questions:
1. Provide a short answer to the hypo at end of this chapter.
2. In your scandal, did the Code of Conduct play any role? What does your Code look like today?
3. What's the most effective mandatory training you ever endured? Does it support the conclusions in either of the articles inspecting how to measure the effectiveness of training?
